Caring for Children

It is the responsibility of parents and the dental team to ensure that your child’s teeth and mouth are healthy.
Together we lay the foundations by helping children adopt good oral health routines and habits as poor oral health
can have a negative impact on their general health.
free dentist treatment for children

With a little care there is no reason why children should need any treatment and they don’t need to go without occasional treats either.

Our dedicated team will help your child look after their teeth throughout their life.

We are delighted to provide free routine treatment for regular patients’ children up until they reach their eighteenth birthday

Protecting Your Child’s Smile…

Your child’s Visit to the Dentist

We advise parents to bring children aged around two or three with them to a routine check up appointment. Your child can have a ride on the chair if they want to and we can count their teeth if they are willing. It’s a fun visit that seems to work very well and it familiarises them with the surgery and surroundings.

Our practice is tailored to engage youngsters of all ages with a welcoming ambiance, a childrens’ corner and child-friendly staff and dentists.

We believe that visiting the dentist for your child should be an enjoyable occasion.

Fissure Sealing for Children…

Sealants are a safe and painless way of protecting your child’s teeth from decay. A sealant is a protective plastic coating, which is applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth.
The sealant forms a hard shield that stops food and bacteria getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay. The sealant forms a smooth, protective barrier by covering all the little grooves and dips (pits and fissures) in the surface of the tooth. Dental decay easily starts in these grooves.

It is totally pain free, and the teeth do not feel any different afterwards.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) - Emergency Service Information

We are now seeing patients for their routine check-ups. However, our current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) from the Chief Dental Officer (England) determines our “new normal” way of working. These state that any surgery where an aerosol generated procedure (AGP) has taken place, the surgery must be left empty for “one hour” and then thoroughly cleaned. An aerosol generated procedure (AGP) is air or water spray (or a mix of both); from a dental instrument like a high speed hand piece as well as ultrasonic scalers used by hygienists. These aerosols could result in the spread of Covid-19 and dentists and their staff are at very high risk of getting Covid-19 from their patients. Due to social distancing and the time surgeries have to be left empty after AGP treatments, we are limited in the number of patients we can have in the practice at any one time.

If you have an appointment to visit the practice, please click on the Covid Policy to download the Patient Journey and Medical History Form. The Medical History completed, signed by you and brought with you to the appointment.

Out of hours emergency service covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

This service will continue as normal. The emergency service can be contacted on 077 6735 3759 and operates from 6pm - 9pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 9pm at weekends and bank holidays.
